Mental Manufactory: Computer Case Box Fan

This invention from the rotating gears of my cognitive workshop may not be edgy, scintillating, or even an eyebrow raiser. In fact, it's like peanut butter and jelly. At some point in history, someone decided it was a good idea to put these two delicious spreads together and make one tasty sammich. While the PBJ isn't a gourmet meal, it certainly gets the job done when you have a case of the hungries.

And thus the genesis of my latest invention. Companies have fret over how to solve the problem of overheating computer cases with good reason. A hot internal environment damages sensitive equipment and lowers PC performance. Creating air flow, installing more fans, more powerful fans, liquid coolant systems...it goes on and on. But why not make one side of the computer a fan itself?? A box fan is like a perfect fit. I bet I just blew your mind. Or you fell asleep. Either way, I had an effect on you : )

If you think about it, the one side of the case is completely useless. It's just a removable access hatch. Now, it serves a dual purpose. Sure, it's loud. I think we can work on that part. But it's also cool, in a double entendre kind of way.

Can I see a sktch for laptops?

Now that's an idea I can get behind! I might have to point Ken in this direction because he's big into innovative computer cooling systems. :)

That idea is pretty neat, but I think you should only market the box fan idea when there is a really wimpy PC in the case. Otherwise it should be sold as a "space heater".

Maybe an extra knob/switch in addition to the fan speed selector to bump up the speed of the computer & turn on the "heater"?

For my own manufactory back when I was mulling over ideas for water cooling for my computer, I considered expanding the computer's cooling system to be connected directly to our home's water system, and then run hoses through the attic with a radiator and fan by each room's door to somewhat cool the whole house.

I use a laptop so your idea needs to be expanded into notebooks. I hate my laptop it's so slow.

I feel like some disgruntled readers have just thrown their wooden shoes into the cogs of my assembly line...

The laptop ultimatum, hmm. I'm going to have to off-shore and outsource this idea to one of my companions in the industry, whom I affectionately refer to as someone else : )

You guys seem to be taking this way more seriously than I ever did! - LOL, I love it!

Remember this invention follows the child sedative spray, a bird bath filled with booze, and a book entitled "Parenting Schmarenting." Take these machinations of mine with a fine pinch of salt.
